HDHomeRun: What can my aerial do?

So there are two HDHomeRun Connect models - 2-tuner and 4-tuner. Does this not depend on my aerial and whether it can take 2 or 4 streams? I know very little about this kind of thing, I'm still stuck thinking Sky/Freesat cables where there must be one cable per input stream (we have a sat dish with two cables coming out of it, so we can record two things, view one and watch another, etc).

Have I just wasted money on a Duo when I could have had a Quadro?

Yes you could have bought a quad, I have upwards of 10 tuners connected to one aerial

You need one coaxial to the antenna, power to the tuner and ethernet to your network. Ethernet can handle as many streams as you give it. I run two quatros no problem.

No need to cry.  It's always good to have an extra tuner on hand as a spare.

You may also want to check out Silicon Dust's Premium TV package which includes 45 cable channels for $35 per month.  This service uses the OTA tuner slots of the HDHomeRuns to deliver these channels.  It supports up to 4 channel/streams and can use these tuner slots from one or multiple HDHomeRuns.

If you end up liking this service then you wasted nothing!  :)
