Misinthe 46 Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Hello everyone, I am new to Emby and the server world, I set up Emby a couple of weeks ago and it has been working perfectly at the house during my Winter Break from work, but now that I want to access it while I am at work on my breaks and stuff, I cannot seem to be able to connect to my server, I know there are plenty of posts in this forum about troubleshooting, and I have tried a lot of them and I can't seem to figure it out, I would like to see if anyone could give me a hand at getting it to work. Thank you all in advance!

Misinthe 46 Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Have you went through the steps in the wiki? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Connectivity So when I try to follow that Wiki, I get stuck in the Emby Connect step, I get this error when trying to save it in the dashboard.

Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 So when I try to follow that Wiki, I get stuck in the Emby Connect step, I get this error when trying to save it in the dashboard. Okay have you proceed and tested your external address? Forwarded ports? Does canyouseeme.org show the ports open?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 (edited) Also, in the last step to Check Ports, I get this error. Might not want to broadcast your ip. But the port should be 8096 not 80 unless you have changed it in Emby. Edited January 3, 2019 by Happy2Play

Didn't think about that haha, thank you for telling me. I deleted it now, and I had to do the port fowarding on the Router, that's the step that was missing, it is working perfectly now. Thank you very much for all your help!
