RRo100 10 Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 (edited) Genre Hello some genres are duplicated. I have already checked whether empty spaces or similar are available. I can not find a difference. Does somebody has any idea? Edited December 31, 2018 by RRo100
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 This hasn't been brought up in awhile. It is usually a combination of old metadata and older database entries. How old is your server install? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/45767-two-genres-for-the-price-of-one https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/53221-how-to-remove-duplicate-movie-genre
RRo100 10 Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 Hello, I have the version 3.6.0.81 beta in use. I will not lose the database, too many adaptations in the metadata and unwatched flag I do not want to lose. Genre Cleaner I can not use because the writing whites of the two genres are the same. How could I repair the database with SQLiteDatabaseBrowser, where do I find the DB entries?

Since you are on beta release, look at the MediaItems table and filter the Path column with your duplicate genre names. As shown here
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 @@Happy2Play TypebasedItems table does not exist in new DB schema (if new install and not an upgrade - and is not used by an upgraded Emby anyway)
RRo100 10 Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 When I open the library.db and look at the MediaItems table, I do not know what to change in it.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Look at the image linked in post 5. You are not looking at genres column. Filter the Path column with Abenteuer (your duplicate genre). You are looking for multiple paths to the same genre.
RRo100 10 Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 Hello Happy2Play, in the database there are e.g. "Animation" only once
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Hello Happy2Play, in the database there are e.g. "Animation" only once It is really hard to say since Genre Cleaner is seeing these duplicates also. Are you seeing any duplicate genres in the movie items? Also that is the old table, the new table is mediaitems.
RRo100 10 Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Ok in the mediaitems table, the genres are double. Does it matter which entry I delete?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Ok in the mediaitems table, the genres are double. Does it matter which entry I delete? I would compare all the column but I don't believe so.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Also note you will either have to manually edit the genrecleaner.xml in "\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins\configurations" or delete it and re-initialized each library type. Or I believe you can delete the duplicates on that mapping screen. Edited January 12, 2019 by Happy2Play
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Only difference I see looking at the database is the original genres were created in June and the duplicate genres were created in September, The ones created in June have a CleanName and the ones from September don't. I would delete duplicate genres with null CleanName.
