How to record live tv on external hard drive?

I setup an emby server on my Nvidia Shield with a external hard drive attached. I’m trying to set the DVR to record to my external hard drive but I get an error message saying that I need to give it permission to write on the external hard drive. Can someone tell me how to give it permission so it can record to the external hard drive instead of my internal storage?

How did you setup your storage device? (device storage or portable)

 

Which path are you trying to use?

 

Is there a path similar to this: 

/storage/AC3D-5D6C/Android/data/com.emby.embyserver/files

'AC3D-5D6C' will be different on your device.
