smills 13 Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Windows Server. When I look in the live TV guide either on the Android TV Client or the Web client the display is correct. One the client home page the "On Now" does not match with the guide, the on now is offset by iut looks like 2 hours. If i choose to play a live TV channel the info panel popup and the bottom of the screen is wrong and display the program for two hours in the future. Recordings execute 2 hours early from what is in the guide. I can look in the windows task scheduler and see them scheduled for 2 hours earlier that they should be. Any ideas where the disconnect is coming from and how to correct? Everything was OK but I recently reinstalled the OS (and therefore emby) on my server and since then I have had the problem. Thanks. -smills
Luke 42086 Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Hi there, please check your server time zone settings and make sure they are correct. This will affect the recordings if they are not. Please also check the time zone settings of your client machines as this will affect the display. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks
smills 13 Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 TZ was wrong on the server. Is correct on the clients. Noticed that the settings on the server were set to set the TZ automatically and it looks like NTP isn't working since it could not set its time from microsoft or nist. Time wont update via NTP on my client either so I am going to assume I have a local network issue with network/router and I will sort that out later. After setting the TZ and time manually on the server that appears to fix the issues at least for the display. Now to see if the recordings execute at the right times.
Luke 42086 Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Make sure to restart Emby Server after updating the timezone. thanks !
smills 13 Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 Did reboot the server after changing the TZ settings so that accomplished and Emby service restart as well. I can report that the issue appears to be resolved and all displays good and recordings are correct.Maybe this should be in a FAQ? Seems silly that TZ would cause this when the time was actually correct on everything.
Luke 42086 Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Thanks for the feedback. We'll make sure it is in our live tv setup guide.
smills 13 Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 And thank you for the support and fast responses!
