Sudden "Log in" error on Client to server - Server shows "authenticated"

Hope everyone had a great holiday?

Got some new 4k movies and have been ripping and testing with emby on my client.  That client has had no issue with logging in.  Suddenly last night I noticed after I restarted the app upon completion of my encoding that I it hangs or gives me the error "wrong user name or password".  I never used one that I recall and its not allowing me to set one on the client.  So I check the server and it shows my profile avatar as "authenticated".  I then check my other htpc and no issue with log in.

I am on win10 updated as with all the drivers.  I removed the emby app and reinstalled and that didnt work either.  I didnt change anything in the server nor the client and both client/server were functioning with no issue until yesterday?  Again my other htpc has no issue with log in today at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Can we look at a specific example? thanks.

I boot the machine up and emby is set to auto load to which it hangs now with the circle just going in a circle until I exit the app or it goes to the log on screen using the client.  From the log on screen no avatars are displayed now just empty profile names and the manual log on, server etc.

If I select my profile it will not log in and states "wrong user name or password"  with the green "got it".  I select the "server" and it correctly displays the server however upon actually selecting it, the circle just spins and has to be manually closed and the app restarted.

Upon that restart I choose "manual" logon and that provides me the "wrong user name or password".  I then tried it on my secondary htpc and no issues as it logs on fine, same win10.

I check the server side and ensure no password was set, but it shows the rejected client as "successfully authenticated" while an alert shows up stating failed logon attempt by me.

I then put in a password for giggles, restart both the server and client and still get the same error.  I have uninstalled the client app several times removing "all traces" and reinstalling with the same negative results.

I then reset the password, leaving it blank and this too had negative results.

That is everything I have done so far in that order.  It just started last night, but was intermittent so I blew it off as I was tired.  This morning it logged on once with no issue and since then will not log on providing me the the "wrong user or password" error.
