Artist not sticking

trying to add "T.REX" to artists and though it's correctly identified in audiodb and musicbrainz, the server names it as "T".

then when I try to manually edit it, it won't stick whatever I do, even if I edit "artist.xml"

That is because ".REX" is seen by the file system as an extension, not a part of the name.  Being discussed/looked into.
