GhostRider 49 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Just wondering if it is worth creating disc art for some of my items. I can only see disc art used in the Movie Box sets when using Cover Art plugin. Is disc art ever used in Emby for TV series or Music videos?
Luke 42077 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 By default we don't, so it's only when you choose to see them.
GhostRider 49 Posted December 30, 2018 Author Posted December 30, 2018 That's a shame, @@Luke any chance of Emby clients in the future using the rolling in disc motion that I used to get with Chocolate theme in the WMC plugin? Most of the art work I submit to fanart.tv is for discs although I just got my first logo approved recently.
GhostRider 49 Posted December 30, 2018 Author Posted December 30, 2018 Hi @@Luke something like this? Is this doable? Maybe even have the disc roll in from the left-hand side.
Luke 42077 Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Well it would have to be something smaller and more subtle.
GhostRider 49 Posted December 30, 2018 Author Posted December 30, 2018 Hi @@Luke Smaller would be fine with me, although not too small so you cannot see the art work. Is this something Emby would consider adding to the development list?
Luke 42077 Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 The first question we have to ask is how it would fit within our current designs. I don't have the answer as to how, but I'm not sure that what you've done would be the right move. What that's doing is pushing the main content over more to the right to make room for something that really should be secondary. So it would have to be done in a way that is not going to try and grab too much of the user's attention.
Oracle 85 Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 I'm with Luke on this one. While I do like the idea, and find it quite interesting, as it'd be nice to utilize disc art, I do agree that the example you showed takes away from the main image.
