tdiguy 99 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 So, I am now working on a backup emby server to have in my house. Which is basically a raspberry pi 3 with a usb thumb drive plugged into it to store some movies. I think there would be issues if i put my existing license on the backup server though. I dont plan to use this server to record or even for live tv just to play movies that are already optimized for playback to direct play on nearly anything. I am thinking the best route to ensure this is a fully functioning backup would be to do a in google play store purchase of emby ( 5$ i think ). This would be basically to allow my mi box devices to play movies from the PI. What is your take?
BAlGaInTl 288 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I don't think there are any issues using your license on multiple servers. However, the device limit is aggregate. It would depend on the features that you are using.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 There no issue applying your key to multiple servers. And if you clients are connecting to this other server then you will not have to worry about devices using devices slots. Can I use my Emby Premiere key on more than one server 1
