Shield TV Codex question

Looking at using a Shield TV box as an Emby client.  Quick question, does emby/shield support Blu-ray rips with a VC-1 codex ?

I've got about 1700 blu-rays ripped to MKV without converting anything.  VC1 isn't a problem.  Occasionally I'll need transcoding on the shield for subs or an unusual video source but it's pretty rare.
