bull77ock 0 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) I have just setup a NAS for the first time. I loaded Plex but I am having all sorts of buffering issues on live TV. I originally had a Tablo DVR but just bought a HD Homerun Extend since it’s seems to play well with Plex or Emby. My goal is to have live tv and DVR in my Media Server solution. So far Plex is failing. And I did not realize that I could not watch the show live that I was recording. Another option is stay with Plex and use the Channels app on my Apple 4K TV, but then I am paying my Plex Pass to get hardware transcoding and the $8 for the Channels app DVR service. My question is, can my NAS handle running Emby on it and be my all in one solution? Thanks Edited December 23, 2018 by bull77ock
Luke 42077 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Hi, yes emby can handle all of this for you. Our upcoming 3.6 release will feature dramatically improved hardware acceleration, and of course we already have the live TV and DVR features. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
bull77ock 0 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 Should I just wait for 3.6? Or should I grab the current version to evaluate it? When is the new version coming? Thanks, look forward to trying it out.
Luke 42077 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 It will be soon after the holiday. You can always message @@solabc16 for beta access.
