Cool Javelin 0 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I am running Ubuntu 16.04 32 bit, and Emby server 3.3.1.0. Apparently, the Emby player on my Roku requires a minimum server version of 3.4.1. My Roku is 3700X Roku Express. Any version of the Emby server I can find seems to be 64 bit only. Can anybody help me? I'd like an older version of the Emby player for my Roku or a newer version of the Emby 32 bit server. Installing a 64 bit version of Ubuntu is out of the question. Thanks, Mark.
Cool Javelin 0 Posted December 30, 2018 Author Posted December 30, 2018 Why not make Emby run on 32 bit server? Is it really that hard to set a flag to compiler to do that?
IceBoosteR 10 Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Why not make Emby run on 32 bit server? Is it really that hard to set a flag to compiler to do that? To be honest, this is the wrong approach. Today nearly everything is 64-bit. The effort to compile in 32-bit aswell would require some time and effort, but only a few people are using 32-bit nowadays. I do not know how much effort that would need, but If I would be you, I would just update to Ubuntu 18.04 64-bit ... Just think about the future-proof point, updates etc.
