Plugins will not install - no route to host

Hi all, I wanted to install some reports and statistics plugins on the server and they didn't give a warning while installing, but after the mandatory server restart - both plugins didn't install, instead issuing a "no route to host" warning. Anything I am doing wrong ? Thanks.
