Flickering Home Screen

Hi.  This is going to be a problem on your server more than likely.  What OS is it on?

Hi Linux (seedbox),

You beat me to it. I think i might have found it, for some reason i selected download artwork but everytime i do and come out it never saves. I have just tried again and its stuck, I'm currently at work so will test when i get home

Thanks for the reply though. I've only just started to use Emby as i'm currently a plex user but i've migrated to roku sitck+'s and using plex some new episodes are in EAC and plex app keeps crashing while transcoding them. Emby played without stopping once :)

Thanks

How did you install emby server?

Are you sure? Because our deb includes it's own ffmpeg build, but the build I see in your server log is not the one we are shipping.

Yea there's something custom going on here. You can see the server isn't being launched with our command line:

	Command line: /media/d12e/cpeb/private/emby-test/opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll

That causes the server to fail to load the skia image processor:

2018-12-29 00:26:53.764 Info Main: Skia not available. Will try next image processor.

And this is the reason for the flickering images on Roku.

Why are you customizing the launch process?

I didn't realise I was, I'm running it on a shared server without root access. Will look into and let you know.

Thanks

Try

systemctl start emby-server

anyway of not starting it without systemctl?

Thanks

Well that's the only officially supported way. You could try starting once with systemctl, then observing the startup command line, and then making sure to start using the same set of arguments.
