My layout is dissimilar to a friends

I'm on Emby.media for both of these images.

 

The one below is my server

 

 

The one below is my friends server

 

 

As you can see, the layout of both of the servers is totally different, even though both servers are on the same version, being accessed from the same site (http://emby.media).

 

I would like my server to have this layout, why/how do I change this?

What exactly is the difference? just the presence of next up? Do you have any next up content?

Please see the screenshots below, they are both different servers, with the same home screen layout however, my friends TVShows shows like this;

Right, for the upcoming 3.6 release we are changing Latest TV to posters, so that is why.

Right, is there any reason for this? & will you add an option to choose between the two layouts? One of the reasons I came to Emby from Plex is because of this layout.

An option is reasonable.

 

The reason is that it's more consistent and doesn't have to depend on the user having thumb images.

Thumbs do have a nicer 'glossy' look. I'd like to have a per library display option, to choose between cover and thumbnail.

That’s exactly why I just switched from Plex today. It’s strange that you can change the posters to banner or thumb etc inside the library view but not on the home page.

I just hope that Emby takes the user suggestions into consideration. Plex just lost a bunch of users because of that.
