kurtgschumacher 36 Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 My file names for shows are "Show Name SxxExx.type". I've tried to add shows using two formats: show Series 1 show S01E01 show S01E02 Series 2 show S02E01 show S02E02 And: show show S01E01 show S01E02 show S02E01 show S02E02 What I expected to see in the browser is a folder containing selections for each show; and choosing a show would display a selection for each season. With the first format, using separate folders for each season, the seasons appear under Shows with incorrect information. I've attached a screen show of what I got when I added American Horror Story. Opening a "show" displays a selector for that one season. When I look at the file folders, each season contains a 'tvshow.nfo' file. So it appears that each season is being treated as a separate show. When I use the second format. the Shows view is empty. The file folder does not contain a 'tvshow.nfo' folder. In both cases, all the episodes are shown, but not in a very usable format. All of S1 are displayed alphabetically by show, followed by all of S2, etc. Is there something I'm missing? Something I'm doing wrong? I've done searches and not found anything describing this behavior. Server is Windows x64 Version 3.5.3.0.
Luke 42081 Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Hi, yes i would delete the tvshow.nfo files from season folders. How did you set this up in Emby Server library setup?
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 Deleting the tvshow.nfo files didn't change the display. I restarted the server, still no change. Re-scanning the library brings the tvshow.nfo files back. Library Setup Folder: R:/Television/American Horror Story Metadata language: English Country: United States Prefer embedded titles: unchecked Enable realtime monitoring: checked Series metadata downloaders: TheTVDB, The MovieDB, The Open Movie Database Season metadata downloaders: TheMovieDB Episode metadata downloaders: TheTVDB, The MovieDB, The Open Movie Database Note: I've experimented with different downloaders settings, nothing changed anything Automatically refresh metadata: Never Metadata savers: NFO Series image fetchers: TheTVDB, FanArt, TheMovieDB Episode image fetchers: TheTVDB, TheMovieDB, The Open Movie Database, Screen Grabber The rest of the settings are at the defaults, let me know if you need to know a specific setting. Thanks, ~~ Kurt
Luke 42081 Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Ok, so you added an individual series as a library. Instead what you want to do is add the parent folder of that as your TV library. So for example, R:/Television Before you do that though you'll want to delete the tvshow.nfo files again from the season folders. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 Okay, I'l try that. I only wanted to have my more recent shows available on the server because I have a lot of shows in my TV folder and I didn't want them all showing. I don't need to see my complete collections of M*A*S*H and Northern Exposure all the time, LOL. But I can do that by moving the older shows to a TV-Archive folder, and moving them back to the main folder if I want to watch them again.
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted December 12, 2018 Author Posted December 12, 2018 It's working fine. Moving shows between the main and archive folder is pretty much instant, so it will be easy to manage. Thanks for the great support! ~~ Kurt
