Emby geoblocked in germany (and possibly other countries)

If you sign up a roku account with a german address emby cannot be found in channel store. If you try to add Emby by channel code (44191), it shows error: "The channel code provided is associated with a channel not available in your region.". Only Emby Beta can be installed.

 

You need to sign up a roku account with a UK address while using a UK VPN to be able to find and install emby in channel store.

I can't find a language setting in my (german) account, but I found this setting:

This was set to "United States". Selecting "United Kingdom" makes Emby show up in channel store.

 

On my new account that I registered to a UK address, I can still see Emby if I change this setting to "United States". Weird, but I guess this is some bug in the roku channel store then.

Hi.  Can you please try setting the region back to United States and see if it will show now?

It shows up in the category "personal media" now (https://channelstore.roku.com/browse/personal-media).

 

 

However, if I search for "emby", it still shows no results, but the search function seems to be broken (when the region is set to United States), because it really won't find anything no matter what you search. So this is something roku would have to fix.

I linked my roku device to the new account I created with the UK address and I don't want to change this again.

 

But as I can see Emby in channel store on the old german account now, I guess it should be possible to install it too.
