New server v3.5.3.0 on windows10 broke remote access

Can no longer access my content outside home network. Started immediately after auto upgrade. No changes to home network.

 

With prior release I did not need to open the 8096 port in my firewall. I opened the port for forwarding just to try but did not make a difference.

 

I have tried remotely with android app and windows10 chrome browser.

 

Always the same result and error failing to connect to the server. Tested and confirmed envy server is running and works when on local home network.

Solution: reboot system, emby server or something after upgrade did not connect to the emby web site.

Ok reboot was temporary. Less than 10 min after reboot problem came back and no remote access.

Reboot was a temporary solution. After about 10 minutes I could no longer remotely access my system. So that shows that there's no problem with my network or firewalls. I double-checked all file rules are off and other apps like TeamViewer can access my emby server with no problem.

 

Not sure what the cause is but it all started with the latest release.

Thanks Luke ... those tips helped. It turned out to be the comcast/xfinisty router port forwarding was enabled, setup correctly but not working. Xfinity port forwarding requires an IPV6 address even though I only really use IPV4.
