TugboatBill 16 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 I have 4 LibreElec (8.2.5, Kodi 17.6) PCs (Intel NUC) and a Win 7 Emby server (3.5.3.0). I've noticed over the past few months that watched status isn't updating on the PCs automatically. EG I watch a TV show on PC1 and on that PC the episode shows watched. I then go to another PC and that episode doesn't show as watched. If I reboot or do a manual sync on that PC the episode then shows as watched. IIRC, I used to see that an episode was watched without having to do a manual sync or reboot. Shouldn't it be working that way?

Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 @@TugboatBill Thanks for reporting. I will test and get back to you on this. However, if you can provide your Kodi logs (kodi where you marked as watched and the one where you don't see the watched status), that be the best way to get to the bottom of this.
TugboatBill 16 Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 GOOD is from the HTPC that an episode was watched on. Look at Flipping Out or The Expanse. SUSPECT is a HTPC that shows the episodes as still unwatched.. Let me know if anything else I can provide that will help. To be more clear - the watched status is updated on all clients, but only on the client the action is occurring on. Other clients don't see the change until they are rebooted or I do a manual sync. So, I watch a show on PC1 and PC1 shows it watched. PC2-4 don't. I watch a show on PC4 and PC4 shows it watched. PC1-3 shows it as still unwatched. Reboot/Manual sync any PC and that PC has current watched status. GOOD_log-2018-12-13-15.55.04.zip SUSPECT_log-2018-12-13-15.57.16.zip 1

Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 (edited) @@TugboatBill Follow up on your logs You are getting a lot of updates, is this always the case? Anyway. I don't see the issue at the moment. It could be that it's already fixed in the beta version of Emby for Kodi. But I do see your "suspect log" receive the update for content you've watched in your "good log" and the watched status looks correct. It would have been helpful to know which title didn't work as intended. I see 52 attempts at playback... but it looks to be seeing the updates on your suspect device. TugboatBill 16 Posted December 22, 2018 Author Posted December 22, 2018 Updates? As in program updates or newly added tv shows? There shouldn't be much in the way of program updates as I don't have a lot added - Emby, Xonfluence, PVR via serverwmc, and I think that's it. I get new TV shows, but not a lot on any given day, at most a season of something. Maybe they're the PVR stuff? That records approx 5 shows a day. In the GOOD log look at The Expanse or Flipping Out. Episode of those were watched on the GOOD HTPC. They didn't appear on the SUSPECT PC. I added a season to a TV show yesterday AM. Later in the day I was on the GOOD PC and it didn't show the season. Rebooted which initiated a sync and the season showed up properly. It seems that the HTPCs all get updated properly, but only with a manual sync or reboot (essentially the same). 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 @@TugboatBill I know it's been a little while, I rechecked your logs. It seems to queue the update to playstate for those titles, but then it is never processed. I'd say, let's wait until 4.0 becomes stable, then test the beta (hopefully stable by then) add-on. I rewrote the syncing process so hopefully this is something that's been already corrected. By update I mean content update from Emby. When you start up Kodi, how many updates do you normally get?
