I noticed a lot of squashed imaged in my LiveTV scheduled recordings which appears to use the thumb image.

I have been playing around with resizing, but it would be better if I knew what that optimal size was.

Is there anywhere posted the recommended sizes of the different types of images?

Also, it seems if thumb images exist in the metadata, I cannot change the thumb in the scheduled recording list. How do I refresh the images displayed there?

I tried refreshing the library and the web browser. Seems I need to refresh the database. How do I do that?

It's the aspect ratio that is more important than the size. Can you show a screenshot to demonstrate? Thanks.

Sure. Here is the flash set to record and the image it shows. The next pic are the images in the library.

As you can see none of them are the image that is displayed.

Those all look pretty good. Thumbs should have a 16:9 aspect ratio but yours is close enough to be usable.

But it is not the image I want displayed. Look closer at the schedule picture.

How do I apply the library image?

The UI is choosing thumbs for that particular screen. There currently are no settings for this.

But the thumb selected is not the one being used. How do I get it to use the thumb I selected?

Posted

It's probably pulling that one from the guide data.

Posted

So the guide data is first priority? I can tell epg123 to not supply the images. Would Emby then use it's images?

Posted

Nope, not coming from the guide data. Has an icon image, but it is totally different.

This is an image stuck in the database.

How do I clear it out? How do I set the image I want?

Posted

No, it's not stuck. You're looking at upcoming scheduled recordings. These are program entries. It pulls the images from those programs.

I don't see where those images are coming from. What is the point of having library images if they can't be used?

Posted

But that screen is not displaying library items.

but it uses library images when a guide image is not available. My issue is Emby is giving priority to the guide images and we should have the option to use library images instead. But even with that said, I see the image used as not coming from the guide at all. Where does it actually come from? It isn't the xml.

I don't use Live TV, but Live TV is it's own library separate from a TV Shows Library, correct?

Posted

I think we all need to understand how those image are used and where they com from. If there are no thumb images available, then you can create one and the schedule will use it. If there are thumbs, Emby picks some unknown image that is not even in the thumb image list.

It saves the recordings into a TV library, but these are not recordings (yet). These are upcoming programs in the guide that have been selected to be recorded.

Posted

So where does that come from?

Not the guide data

Posted

Why do you feel that it doesn't come from the guide data?

Posted

no, it doesn't. the only image in the guide for that show is in an icon tag and it is not the same image.

Posted

how do you know that is the only image from the guide data? what guide data source are you using?

I am using NPVR for recordings. Maybe it comes from there. I will check

May I suggest here possibly (or similar) -

Yes, that is where they are coming from. So I need to edit them there.

I wouldst presume so. I used to have very squashed images in NextPVR recordings looking in Chrome and Theater but seem to have had a good clearout recently so haven't got any too check.

Also you can if you want fix up any incorrect art in the NPVR directory if you so desire, I get quite a few mis-identifications being in NZ.
