How do I get Alexa to play my emby playlists?? I have it setup and it's working when asked to play songs, but with playlists I get nothing

My understanding is that playlists are not supported. I recall @hatharry acknowledging that and saying playlist support was on the roadmap?...Im also looking forward to playlist support.

Well let's get to the powers at be and get it working!

Also is there a way to change the word that Alexa uses to open the Emby app? currently when you say open emby, I typically get envy, or web md - so aggravating.

I finally got Alexa working with Emby!!! Now how can we get it to play our playlists? Also, when we ask Alexa to Open "Emby" or "M.B." sometimes it'll open "Envy" or "Web MD" is there a way to change the word to activate that Emby app? As a pro subscriber, let's get this working guys. I am not, but there has to be some brainiacs that can get this accomplished.

For the Sonos, I'd have to see the request in log. If you can try it and tell me the time you tried it at. I will check the logs and keep you posted on if it can be resolved.

I will add support for the playlist to be played directly on the echo and let you know when it's ready to be tested.

Just a quick update that I’ve started working on adding playlist playback on the device.

Do we have any update on this? Love to have my playlists play thru my echo device...

can you command an alexa to play playlist on firestick? i cant get alexa skill to play a playlist on the alexa or foreign player (web client and android tv tested)...despite the skill making the correct search call and the playlist being identified.

I don't know how to control a firestick on alexa. When the emby skill is activated on alexa, if I ask "play playlist classic rock" it responds "The requested media is not found in the library"

I see many services that can do this, but not emby... They want us to stay here so we have local access to our music, so let's get it going...

Playlist support has been updated, this should be released in the next couple of days.

Until amazon supports playlists for multiple languages, I suggest naming the playlist a single word e.g. "Rock", "Chill"

Please let us know when to try, so I'm not trying this constantly with no results... This would be an amazing add-on!

Not sure if it's already active? I tried one of my playlists "trop rock" and it worked! The only thing is it seems to not understand "shuffle" what are the commands that will work?

I noticed that it's only playing one song from a playlist then it stops..

Weird, If I ask "Alexa Launch Emby", it say's "hello, I'm Emby. How Can I Assist You? For Example, you can say 'play a few songs' (by the way can that statement be changed to something less like "Welcome to Emby", the current is too long of an intro), I then ask "Play Playlist Rock" it say's I have encountered a glitch, can you say that again? If I repeat it say's the same thing, but if I say nothing it'll only play the first son from the playlist then it'll stop..

Some Suggestions:

1. Shorten the intro when the skill is opened

2. When asked to play a playlist say something like "Ok here is  your playlist rock, country, etc)

3. Allow shuffle mode to be turned on

4. Allow repeat mode

5. When asked to play an album have it say the name of the album, not just the first track
