westmichigansc 0 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Hello! I set up a different computer to run Emby from with fresh windows install. Everything is installed, tuners working. I can connect to the server from Roku, and every other computer on my network. However, the computer that the server is on will not connect to the server with Emby Theater. I am sure this is something simple that I am missing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Doug
Solution Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 3, 2018 Solution Posted December 3, 2018 Pretty sure loopback is still a issue on same machine. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/39288-how-to-run-windows-store-app-on-same-machine-as-serve 1
westmichigansc 0 Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 I was able to find the loopback tool and run it. I checked the box. Now I can open Emby on this main computer, but new problem. It is literally not watchable. It has very bad buffering/lag effect. This is strange because this is the computer that has the HDHomerun plugged into Ethernet port. It seems like it must be sending wifi to and from the router, maybe? I have never seen this on the computer I have the tuner connected to. Even Roku seems to work smooth.
Luke 42085 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
westmichigansc 0 Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 No luck. I gave up on this old desktop computer and put the laptop I had back in as the server. It is not much better and somehow Roku seems to be working a lot better than the PCs. That is a surprise to me. Would this be expected? I am not a computer expert by any means and have given this a go for the last 4 months. I am not an IT person and have trouble communicating some of this. I would like to find something as a replacement for WMC for the future, there are a lot of great features in Emby, if I can get it to work. It seems hit and miss and I find myself fumbling around a lot. For instance after I switched PC's back, now I can't get some of my devices to connect. It seems like luck at times. Am I alone? My apologies for the rant.
Luke 42085 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 I apologize for your issues. We're happy to look at an example if you can provide the information requested. Thanks !
