Yeah I'm not particularly happy with TVDB either but it's what emby uses and I can almost guarantee something better like IMDB has a crazy pricing to use their API.

noticing, it seems to be a lot of the same ones not detecting. could still be a time out/scans per min API limitation, who knows...
sadly server again is in heavy use, so logs are insane to try to filter through. i will try again later when i have no users to get a good debug log.

I think for at least a few of the items in your list, the number of episodes to be collected is "0" because there are no official entries for them as a series in TVDB or episodes haven't actually aired yet. The Fear the Walking Dead episodes are on TVDB as specials under the parent series. Same with the Celestial Toymaker and Is It Cake. According to TVDB, episodes for A Cruel Love don't start airing until March 5 on ITV1. So there are no episodes to be collected until that date. Great Battles of the Great War has no episodes to be collected because there are no air dates identified for the three Season 1 episodes on TVDB.

Money Heist and Captain Caveman and Son...I'm not sure why they have "0" episodes to be collected as they both have official entries as series at TVDB with air dates entered for each episode. I'll add them to my library when I get home tonight to see what Statistics shows for them.

Minor correction on what I posted above about Doctor Who - The Celestial Toymaker (2024). It is not a special under the parent series on TVDB. I think TVDB considers it to be an animated recreation of lost episodes of the fourth serial in Season 3 (S03E30-E033). So a separate entry is not provided for it.

TMDB lists it as a movie.

I added these both to my library. Statistics shows that there are episodes to be collected for both.

So I have no insight as to why that might not be the case for others.

A few strange entries have started to show up for me too, only a hand full but they all seem the same..

They are all shows that have ended and I have collected all of the episodes. 

EDIT: I think I know what the problem could be for me at least. All the shows affected are using DVD order.

FTWD-Dead in the water and flight 462 used to show up fine before, they HAD their own listing...means they removed them to make them "specials"

REALLY hating thetvdb now....
especially because auto organize did all the sorting BASED on tvdb....

ok so on top of the "normal issues" i have found here is where i am really thinking there is a few issues:
1) that tvdb api is timing out when there is too many queries too fast
2) that somewhere the "mathing" is still broken
Chicago series (pd med and fire) all air at the same time, same day....
So this is right:

This is NOT!

fire scan, then med, then PD: scan starts at 0100 EST
so all three should show missing from previous day`s airing
on top of that,
266 of 267 is not 100%
235 of 236 is not 100%
some of the other shows are showing 99%, 98% etc when missing 1 show missing as expected
BUT some shows are still not reading as missing an episode when they are
making me believe that the scan isnt receiving the data from tvdb, just as the 0 of 0 ones

metadata manager IS showing what is missing, but i have to be a day after before it shows up
where stats pluging used to show missing the day it was airing

i could post the results of the 1440 TV shows, but figured this would suffice!

just like the rust server i am staff on.
a plug in polls umod for updates, but after x number in x time, it returns 404, where it is doing DDoS protection.
i am really thinking if @hackthis02puts some kind of delay between polls, like maybe 1-5 seconds this may satisfy the tvdb api and get uninterrupted pulls
or even a pause between like every 5 polls, no idea to what tvdb does at this point...
depending on the setting from tvdb, might have to do up to 30-60 seconds between polls
granted in my cause with 1440 tv shows, a 1 second time out between polls would take the scan from the 16 min and add 24 min to it
if a 30 second delay is added, it would add 12 hours to my scan!
and if 1 min between polls, it would add 24 hours to my scan!

TVDB seems to respect the airdates on the "network of origin" if a series airs elsewhere earlier. I saw something similar for Orphan Black: Echoes. It aired on Stan in Australia six months before it officially aired on AMC in the US. Users kept trying to update the episode dates to match the Australian air dates, but TVDB (or other users) kept deleting the dates since it hadn't aired on AMC yet. I think TVDB eventually locked the series to prevent users from making changes until it "officially" aired on AMC.

Very frustrating.

I no longer, in anyway, pull from TVDB. I'm querying the local DB from Emby. Emby now handles all interactions with TVDB.
I think I have tracked down the same day airing issue.
Before I would filter out episodes by

e.PremiereDate <= DateTime.Now || e.PremiereDate != null

But now I'm trying to use the internal query system so I have it doing the filter

Trying to solve my issue, I have a quick question.
If I take example with My serie La casa de Papel ( Money Heist ) If I go in DBTV, i have this :

My collection is based on Netflix order, but If I tried to change in my metadata seems it's not working.

Here I have only 3 choise. Aired for sure, absolute or DVD.
There is no Netflix, or "Alternate Order".
Do you know how I can match my collection with Netflix Order in DBTV ?
There is maybe other setting to do ?

Because for sure if i'm not compliant here, in the statistics plugin it will be not good....

I just noticed something with Emby Beta 4.9.1.25. I'm not sure if this occurred with previous versions.

undefined...I don't recall what was displayed before. But I definitely don't remember seeing "undefined". Is this a bug introduced with newer Beta versions?
