cdroland 0 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I am using MX-17 linux and I ran the install and it said install was completed but when I went to run the program, I couldn't find it anywhere.
Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Hi, did you try starting from a terminal?
cdroland 0 Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 (edited) No because I don't know what to type in terminal to start the program from there. I am relative new to linux so forgive me for my ignorance. Could you tell me which version I need to use with my version of Linux? thanks Edited December 1, 2018 by cdroland
cdroland 0 Posted December 1, 2018 Author Posted December 1, 2018 After installing emby server, I keep getting the message Failed to start emby-server.service: Unknown unit: emby-server.service See system logs and 'systemctl status emby-server.service' for details. For some reason MX-17 linux can't find this service. I am lost what else to do
Luke 42078 Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 @@cdroland, I've merged your topics together. I've passed this to our build developer for review. Please be aware we haven't tested on MX-17 at this point. Thanks.
alucryd 315 Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 You won't find emby in your applicatin menu, this is not a desktop application. MX linux is based on debian, or some debian derivative right? What does "systemctl status emby-server" give you? We've seen issues where ubuntu would automatically mask our unit for no reason at all, maybe this is the case here as well.
cdroland 0 Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 It says Failed to get properties: No such interface ''
Luke 42078 Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Hi there, can you provide the full terminal output? thanks !
cdroland 0 Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 Forgive me for my ignorance but how do I do that? I will be glad to provide it if I can.
Luke 42078 Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Where exactly did it say Failed to get properties: No such interface '' Can you show a screenshot? Thanks !
cdroland 0 Posted December 25, 2018 Author Posted December 25, 2018 It does but I think you have to pick to load them when you boot into linux
Luke 42078 Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 Can you install emby server again on top of your existing installation...Does emby server auto-start after the install is complete? thanks.

Luke 42078 Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Ok, perhaps @@alucryd may know the answer, but up to this point we have not tested this distro.
