Spyderturbo007 19 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 (edited) I'm trying to get Emby to download Banners for my movies. I tried "Download images in advance" and the "Scan media library", but none of the images were added. I'm having to add them one-by-one which is really time consuming. I also have some disk images I'd like added for movies that now have them available, but I'm having to do them manually as well. Emby is running in Docker and is v3.5.3.0 which shows as up to date. mastrmind11 722 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 First off, something is slamming your server w/ requests, so I'd start w/ disabling whatever plugins you might have installed. Second, the library scan is successfully fetching images so I'm guessing that you just haven't let the scan finish completely? It's likely a combination of whatever is crushing your server w/ the simultaneous scan and you thinking it shouldn't take so long?
Luke 42078 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 And then the other thing is, have you checked your enabled image fetchers for that library, and then checked to see if those sites have the images you want for your titles. And then have you checked to see if the images they have fit within the criteria of your image fetcher settings?

It's likely a combination of whatever is crushing your server w/ the simultaneous scan and you thinking it shouldn't take so long? It's probably the Movie Poster App I recently installed on another computer that watches the server for a Now Playing from my theater. I can disable it if it will cause an issue? "MoviePoster includes several plugins which are capable of communicating with popular media player software including Kodi, Plex and Emby. When configured correctly MoviePoster will monitor the status of the media player. Then when you play a movie MoviePoster will display the poster as well as the start time, end time and progress. It is important to note that currently one active plugin is supported. Unexpected behavior may occur if more than one plugin is set as active." I did allow the scan media library task to complete before I checked the images. I just ran it again, with no change.

And then have you checked to see if the images they have fit within the criteria of your image fetcher settings? Ah, I found it. I didn't even see the "Fetcher Options" when I was on that page. Thank you so much. That will just add images that don't exist, correct? As opposed to overwriting what I've already added? Edited November 27, 2018 by Spyderturbo007
Luke 42078 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Make sure to see the notice at the top of the library settings dialog.
Spyderturbo007 19 Posted November 27, 2018 Author Posted November 27, 2018 (edited) I do see that notice, but if I refresh manually, will it just add what is missing as opposed to changing what's already set? Is there a manual refresh of the entire library? I see the automatic one that can run every 30 days, but I'd be waiting awhile for it to refresh. Thanks! Edit -> I found the manual refresh. I just want to make sure it will only add what's missing. Edited November 27, 2018 by Spyderturbo007
Spyderturbo007 19 Posted November 27, 2018 Author Posted November 27, 2018 Sorry to bouncing around here, but I did one manually and it appears as though you can choose how you want it to work. I chose the only download missing metadata and made sure that "Banner" was selected under the fetcher settings. It didn't download the banner and I found this in the log. Error.txt
Luke 42078 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Looks to me like a potential problem with the fanart website. I would give it a try again later, or tomorrow. It usually ends up resolving itself.
Spyderturbo007 19 Posted November 27, 2018 Author Posted November 27, 2018 Thank you. Any thoughts about the Movie Poster App hitting the server every second or so?
mastrmind11 722 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Thank you. Any thoughts about the Movie Poster App hitting the server every second or so? It's not bidirectional, so the app has to poll the server to figure out what's happening. I'd reach out to the devs of the app and see if they can take the pinging down to a reasonable level.
Luke 42078 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Yea they are hitting the server pretty hard.
