ambrdrake 0 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 I distinctly remember being able to (re)name my DLNA clients with Emby v3.4. Is that still possible with v3.5, or will that feature return? They were previously listed on the Devices page of the admin interface. Now I only see Emby clients there... Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 It's not possible at this point with dlna devices, only devices that log in with a username and password.
dansblackcat 37 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Some of my devices, like my Sony TV's, have an option in them that allows me to allocate them a name. That name then appears in the emby dashboard.
ambrdrake 0 Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 Some of my devices, like my Sony TV's, have an option in them that allows me to allocate them a name. That name then appears in the emby dashboard. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for all devices... Sonos' players in particular include the IP address in their DLNA name (for whatever reason). Others have cryptic names based on (part of) their MAC address, or no name at all. @Luke: could anything be done via DLNA profiles?
Luke 42077 Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Yes but not easily. You'll need to design separate profiles to target individual devices.
Luke 42077 Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 New Sonos plugin in the Emby Plugin catalog: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/78020-new-sonos-plugin
