Access from my parent's home

Hello,

 

I have a problem when I try to contact ou home emby server on a Synology Nas from my parent's house.

 

All my test are ok, access from my office, from my mobile in 4G, from my local network, from my parent's home with a laptop or with Android mobile phone in Wifi.

 

But when I try to access from my parent's home with Emby Android TV on Xiaomi Mi box 3s on Android TV 8.0 I have a problem. Internet access is Ok on Xiaomi Mi Box (netflix, youtube... works fine).

 

Test 1 : with my https://myurl port 8920 I have an connection error impossible To join server.

 

Test 2 : with emby connect the server return the local IP of the Emby Server and not the external I don't know why.

Hi there, have you setup https on your Emby Server? You need to do this before you can use https. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Yes https is enable, and it's works fine from a navigator on my office laptop and on my mobile phone too.

What kind of SSL cert?

I have a free SSL cert from Let's Encrypt (Let's Encrypt Authority X3) on PKCS12 format (cert.p12).

 

They works fine on different web navigator.

So what's happening is your cert is likely being rejected by Android on the tv app. The reason the mobile app works is because we added an override to force it, but we don't have any such thing in the TV app.
