Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I believe all subtitles on opensubtitles are plain text.
Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 You have to download first, then the subtitles will appear in the emby video player.
phrostb 0 Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 You have to download first, then the subtitles will appear in the emby video player. so there's no way to automate it? i have to manually download the subtitles for every single thing i want to watch?
Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 No, that's what we have the subtitle download scheduled task for. It will run automatically periodically. You can even configure the schedule for it if you like.

Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 There is a daily download limit from open subtitles which I believe is 100. Once the limit is reached it will stop and then resume the next day.

Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Well if you tried the manual subtitle download and none were found then that explains it. Did you check open subtitles to see what was available?
phrostb 0 Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 Well if you tried the manual subtitle download and none were found then that explains it. Did you check open subtitles to see what was available? yes i just searched opensubtitles, looks like there's a couple hundred results for this movie but when i did ctrl-f "d3g" nothing came up. any idea why it works perfectly fine in plex (even with the subtitles) but has issues in emby?
Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 They have a few more subtitle providers besides OpenSubtitles. We also have SubDb in the plugin catalog, and the next release of Emby Server will add another provider as well.

I just tried the subdb search engine and it couldn't find my file..  http://easysubtitles.com/#!search  oh well thanks for the help. I guess I'll try emby again in the future
phrostb 0 Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 why did you filter on d3g? I was trying to find my video
Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 You said there was a couple hundred for the movie, why not just try some of the top ranked ones from that?
phrostb 0 Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 You said there was a couple hundred for the movie, why not just try some of the top ranked ones from that? And I would have to manually do that for each movie? Wouldn't it make more sense to just use plex since it works seamlessly?
Luke 42078 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Our next release will improve the subtitle download features. thanks.
