short film category

Hi there, I hope I didn't miss this feature but I was wondering if it would be possible to get an own category for short film. Right now I have a movie and a shorts library but when I use f.e. the chinema mode it starts trailers before the shorts. This is a bit annoying in my opinion.
It would be awesome aswell if shorts which are put in a main movie subdirectory would be added to the short category automaticaly.

Yes, that's why I wrote this:

I'm talking about normal short films mainly which don't have a main film. If those could get an extra category.

Why not just use home videos?

It would be a workaround like my 2. movie library. It's fine but I was thinking maybe this would be a nice feature for a future version of emby. But maybe I'm one of a few short film lovers .

I put shorts in my movie library and then group them in their own collections.

 

If I cared about having them separate I'd just put them in their own library and not have it merge into the Movies view.

 

I have to admit, I don't see the value to automating this but I'm also not sure how complete the required supporting metadata is.  There is a 'short' keyword on themoviedb.com but I haven't looked into how widespread its use is.

There is a 'Short' category in Genres, but it does contain some not very short movies for me - E.T, Die Hard 4.0 anyone... Edit - really should get round to editing those Genres.

Seems like the easiest solution would just be to add an option to the Cinema plugin to not play extras if a film is shorter than a given length.

I also have a separate short film library. It bothers me (alittle) that shorts get recommended for full length and vice Versa just cause they are both categorized as movies.
