External Media Player Issue in MBT

When I play a movie using the built in MBT player it works great but when I add an external media player (VLC) I get an error message from VLC saying "file reading error" I have tried using other external media players and I will get the same error message.

 

Setup: Using 2 computers, one as a server and one for MBT, both are connected via home server/HomeGroup.

 

I cannot seem to wrap my head around this. Does anyone have any ideas to what my problem can be?

Sounds like your MBT machine doesn't have access to the media files.  Read the setup tutorial concerning UNC paths or Path substitution.

I will read through the tutorial and see what I can come up with.  Thanks for the help.
