Viriiguy 0 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Running Version 3.5.3.0 We have an issue where probably half the time, the IMDB lookup will not work. It just finds nothing. For example, The muppets Sex and Violence https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454507/ When I put in tt0454507 in the IMDB field under identify and nothing shows up.We have done this with lots of other titles and it does the same thing. In a LOT of cases, doing the same thing for TheMovieDatabase, always works.. if the movie is there.
Luke 42085 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Hi, our Imdb lookup occurs through TheMovieDatabase, so what this means is that TheMovieDatabase needs to have that Imdb id on file. If they don't, then this will come up empty. Does that answer your question?
Viriiguy 0 Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 Ok, but a lot of times, themoviedatabase DOES have the info.. But, if I try to use the IMDB identifier, it won;t find the info.. but if I use the TMDB identifier it will. Also, what sense does it make to let us use an IMDB identifier tag, if you require TMDB to do a search on IMDB? That doesn't make any sense.

This usually means that MovieDb does not have the Imdb Id on file. So why do we still allow you to do it? Because usually they DO have it on file and we want to provide the feature. Are you saying that we should just take it away?
Luke 42085 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 By the way, your example works just fine for me.
Viriiguy 0 Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 It would seem to me, to make more sense to use IMDB to look up the IMDB identifier. I am not sure why it worked. We tried ti several times, with no luck, so my wife input the data manually.

Viriiguy 0 Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 That makes sense then. Thank you.
