chowbok 132 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I'm getting a new hard drive for my server, and I was considering making a dedicated partition for transcoding-temp. How can I determine how large to make it? It shouldn't need to be larger than my largest movie, should it? Also, anyone have any thoughts on mount options? I was thinking that since it doesn't matter if it loses the temp transcode data in a server crash, I can do all the "dangerous" options that are said to speed things up. So, something like "noatime, commit=120, barrier=0, data=writeback". Anyone have any other thoughts?
Luke 42078 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 That's correct, but multiply that by the max number of simultaneous transcodes that you envision.
