Subtitles selection

Hi guys,

 

I'm struggling setting up my Emby to automatically show foreign subtitles with foreign audio.

"Smart" option assumes that my wanted subtitle language is my native, which is not the case for me.

 

Is that possible to set up somehow or do I need to go ahead and post a feature request to GitHub?

 

P.S. Not sure I made clear what I want, so:

I'm from Russia, and I want items with Russian audio track to not have any subtitles, and I want items that do not have Russian audio to have English audio w/ subs. Does that makes sense?

Doesn't setting your preferred audio language to Russian and subtitle mode to "Smart" accomplish that?

Unfortunately, no, that's exactly why I'm surprised.

Setting my audio to Rus, Subtitles to Eng and mode to Smart activates Eng subtitles in items with Ru tracks.

That sounds like expected behavior, no? You asked for English subtitles and that's what you got. What am I missing?

Luke, would you mind reading original post please? I even summed up what I want to achieve in the bottom line, and I'd like to know if it's achievable at all with any combination of settings or do I need to submit a feature request.

Ok then yes, try smart. But try with a new video file as track selections are remembered.
