Server wil not complete update to version 3.0.5211.41935

Hello,

 

I have an ongoing problem with the server - it wont complete its last update.

 

When I access the control panel is see the following:

 " Pending Installations click to collapse contents

The following components have been installed or updated:

MBServer (3.0.5211.41935)

Please restart the server to finish applying updates. "

 

 

I click restart, but media browser does not restart, it closes but has to be started manually.

 

I had to re-install my android app as it just hung (after foolishly saying yes to a server restart) and then crashed. But after hitting "no" on the server reboot request all is okay. The windows phone app seems unaffected.

 

I have attached the log files generated at the time hit "restart" although the first may relate to me starting the server after the previous restart.

I tried to uninstall / re-install the server last night but it wouldn't re-install throwing up error messages (safe and latest beta were attempted) - I did a roll back of win7 to bring back a server I can access but still have the original problem

There was a bug with the updater a couple versions ago. Shutdown the server, delete the updates folder from the server's program data folder, then reinstall from the website and you should be fine.

Yeah, if you came from a couple versions back then it is the fact that your user name has spaces in it that was the issue.  Re-installing from the website should get you going again, but be sure the server isn't running before you do that.
