GTX 1080 transcoading load

I have a zotac 1080 mini, and I am using emby on my desktop to stream movies at work. I mainly just listen to them at a lower quality using mxplayer. My question when I use gpu transcoding it is over 80% load. Is that safe to do for 8 hours at a time? or is there a better transcoding option for me since all I am doing is listening to the movie?

BTW I have a i7 6700k paired with it.Kodi TutuApp AppValley

Generally any processor could run at 100% for years - as long as it's cooled well. The only issues are thermal ones and in this regard I can't say anything about your specific hardware.

But what you can do is activate throttling. This will slow down transcoding and only transcode as much as needed to keep up continuous playback.
