Emby Server not showing new content unless library is rescanned

The server stopped showing new content on the server side (taskbar popups) and the client side (Emby WMC). I have to log out and back in on the client side for the new content to show up on the latest view and for it to show up in the list view for a series.

I have tried reinstalling the Emby Server and no difference. One thread showed a setting with Home Screen Settings with Latest as an option and that doesn't show up on my Profile Home Screen Settings. I am running the latest Server and WMC.

Hi.  Have you enabled real time monitoring for these libraries?  What file system is the server on?

Posted

Yes real time is on. The server has NTFS.

Hi, does the content show in the web app?

Posted (edited)

Yes.

OK, I deleted the ServerWMC add-in yesterday and this morning the new shows are popping from the tray on the server. Will test the client tonight.

OK, EmbyWMC still doesn't show the new shows unless I log out and back in.

instead of logging out, what if you just leave the current screen and then return?

That's what I do a lot and they don't show up. That's how I first started noticing it.

I don't think EMC has ever reacted to library changes on the fly...

I have seen it show the new shows after coming back to the home screen for a long time. I would see it shuffle the latest shows to show the newest that had been added. But if you say it doesn't then....  :(

I have tried it but not on my media PC's yet. Is it fully functional with Media Center and the MC Remote?

It is a standalone app and supports media center remotes.
