Dazik 46 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Hello, Would be cool if you could lock certain users to a list of IP's. For example Ted Whitelisted on 192.168.1.4, 192.168.1.6 Cannot login outside of those addresses. Steve: No whitelist, access from any IP. Point is, Steve is a good guy. Ted let his son have access and he keeps giving the password to 20 people every time you change it. Would be nice, instead of filtering via iptables every 2 days. Just saying!
Luke 42079 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 So a global filter for all users is not sufficient?
Dazik 46 Posted November 15, 2018 Author Posted November 15, 2018 So a global filter for all users is not sufficient? It is sufficient in most cases. The end goal in this for me is the ability to filter on a per user basis to prevent leeching bandwidth and the inherent security concerns of that. As is, I could filter everyone's IP's. But there are family members I have in the military where the IP is different on an hourly basis. Not to mention me myself travelling and getting locked out. I simply think it would be a fine addition to have, and with the current global IP filters, I don't think it would be hard to implement.
