Dr Peter O'Boogie 0 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Hello, First of all many thanks for a fantastic 3rd version of Media Browser - used it previously with MCE, but the WOW factor has increased 10 fold with this release. My server seemed to be stuck loading the latest update, continuously got a message asking me to re-start to finish the update. I restarted, but although it shuts down it never restarts - I always have to restart myself. also my android app had problems connecting, it too was attempting to restart the server but of course it just closed down. Windows phone app seemed unaffected. So I decided to uninstall the server and reinstall. The latest safe release - went for this but it stuck installing. Then went for latest Beta, but got the following message and now get it if I try and install version ending 95: " Cold not move system directory to backup System.I.O.I.OException Access to the path 'C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\System' is denied " I also now see another box has popped up: " Unhandled exception: Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created " Any assistance is gratefully received - I have become a little dependent on this.
Dr Peter O'Boogie 0 Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 I have decided to roll back windows a day as it should put the server back. It will still have the update problem so what log should i upload? Sent from my Lumia 820 using Tapatalk
chef 3810 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) @@Luke there is a UAC issue here. A "handle" error happens when an application is trying to access a windows form which doesn't exist. I am not an expert in the server code, but I can speculate that it is the "appdata" folder which is having UAC issues. Are you an administrator on the server machine? Also, is the "appdata" folder allowed to be accessed by you or the system in the folder properties? Sorry if this doesn't help. Edited April 16, 2014 by chef
Dr Peter O'Boogie 0 Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 Hi, Thanks for the assistance, no problems as far as I am aware. But I have rolled back windows now and the server is back, I will start a new thread and upload the logs.
ebr 16177 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 The server was still running when you were trying to install. Possibly as a service.
