Debian 9.5 hardware decoding does not work

On debian 9.5 64bit using the xanmod kernel (to allow the i915 driver to load) Emby will not hardware transcode (either stable or beta version). Interestingly, Plex does hardware transcode. This is with a UHD 630. This test was with Emby 3.5.3.0.

 

Quicksync does not work. VAAPI does not work.

The setup is a little wonky compared to Ubuntu, but I can confirm Plex uses hardware transcoding on this node as intel_gpu_top shows usage. Emby can't transcode on the hardware, for whatever reason.

What sort of hardware transcoding are you trying to do? Are you trying to use VAAPI?
