jburgess 13 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Evening all, The last couple of days I've had some pausing through certain episodes. Haunting on Hill house. Stuttering. Switch to King of Queens then it's fine. It all direct plays. Switch to 4G and that's fine so I thought must be my internet. Go on Netflix and stuff plays fine at 4K? Any ideas?
Luke 42085 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Hi there, can we please look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
mastrmind11 722 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 unless you're watching remotely, comparing it to Netflix is useless, not to mention they store multiple versions of the same file and switch to the bitrate that makes the most sense while youre streaming. My guess is you're saturating your network, or are trying to watch something that requires a transcode w/ an underpowered server. Either way, attach some logs and stuff...
jburgess 13 Posted November 10, 2018 Author Posted November 10, 2018 Hmmm, It's directly playing though so how is that using resources? It's not transcoding. Also, I'm playing it through a hard worker Android TV. But when I play through 4G on my phone it's ok. Which logs do you need?

jburgess 13 Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 Just more info, I am watching remotely. My server is hosted and connects to Plexdrive. Which logs do you need? Because everything direct plays there isn't one for the stuff I'm watching. There is the general emby log.
Luke 42085 Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Have you tried lowering the in-app quality setting to force it to transcode? It sounds to me like the stream is just not getting there fast enough.
jburgess 13 Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 @@Luke Ok, so transcoding seems to work. What I don't get is my server 800 up and down. My home has 80mbps down. How is it struggling? It's been fine for ages.
Luke 42085 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 ISP throttling? That's about all I can think of.
