Columbo Specials

Ok, this isn't exactly a biggie, but does anyone know if there a way to get the specials for Columbo, which were according the TVDB (and real life) the ones at the end of the whole Columbo run, to actually show at the end and not at the beginning...

 

 

The specials are in a Specials directory, inside the Columbo directory with all the other Seasons, and are named S00E01xxxx, S00E02xxxx, S00E03xxxx, etc as per the wiki.

Only way I can think of is add a Sort name Season 11 to make them appear at the end.

Have you checked "Display Specials in the season they aired in"?. that is supposed to make them play in "absolute" episode order. Failing that TVDB (or whichever online db it ismay have them listed in the wrong order)

The only reason Specials are presented in the UI first is because the Season 0 identier and nothing to do with the episode themselves.

The Display Specials thing seems to have worked nicely and put them back in the final Series 10, except now they show up in Season 10 but the original Specials season is still there, as per the image in the first post. Might confuse people (i.e. me never mind the rest of the family). Did a Scheduled Task > Scan Media Library to see if it removes it but it doesn't (which might not be that unexpected).

The Specials folder will always be there.  The display within season setting just shows the episodes in there metadata display order.

 

Sounds like you want a option where the Specials folder is hidden when "Display specials within seasons they aired in" is enabled.

An option would probably be nice, except at some point I'd probably end up saying 'Help, I put this stuff in a Specials folder and its not showing up'.

 

Anyhoo, actually the simplest way seems to be give the Specials folder a Sort Name of Season 10 Specials. Who'd a thunk - Oh thats right, you did

Confusing for the unknowing, yes. But now you know and can advise Family etc accordingly. But I do like the idea of an option to hide the specials folder when "Display Specials within..." is checked.
