Camera Upload Photos Out Of Order Scrolling

Hi All,

 

Having an odd issue that I haven't been able to fix and hoping to get some help, or at least insight to this. I use Emby to backup all my photos locally, and this includes using the Camera Upload feature to auto backup all the photos I take with my phones.

 

The issue I am having is the order in which the photos scroll. If I open a given Camera Upload folder and sort by Date Added in Descending order they all show up in the order I took them/downloaded them (which correlates pretty well with Date Added). The issue is if I open a photo to view it's full size, then swipe left or right (and this happens in the Windows app as well as my phone apps) they scroll in a completely seemingly random order and not the order the thumbnails were displayed in. Is there a reason for this? I can't seem to figure out what I might be doing wrong or what isn't working. This seems to happen no matter the sorting metrics though, and it does NOT happen with anything BUT Camera Upload. Things like my normal photos that I add to folders manually from say my camera or something scroll in order correctly.

 

I do want to add that I don't use Emby as my primary photo viewer, so this isn't a huge deal to me but I would still like to at least figure out why it's happening so I have a better understanding. If it could be fixed that would be even more awesome.

 

And if you want to know things I have tried:

-Different sort metrics

-Rebooting server

-Rebooting phone and PC running the apps

-Reinstall the apps

 

 

 

P.S. I posted this here in the server section because it happens to all apps that view photos so I think it's likely a server based thing, but I am unsure.

Hi, yes I can provide an example of what is happening. I first want to apologize for all the memes in these here though, that's just what was in my recent photos. Oh and sorry for them being so big. Anyway here we go. 

 

So if I open my camera roll and sort by Date Added I see this, which is the correct order:

 

Then if I click that first photo on the left, it shows up as expected.

 

But here is where it gets odd, if I click the next arrow after opening that first photo fullscreen, I get this:

 

Then if I hit next I get another photo that isn't what was in the thumbnails.

 

Finally, if I hit back on that first photo, I get this photo, which is NOT the first photo ever uploaded from this phone:

 

 

And again, sorry for the massive photos, I had to do this on a bit of a time crunch so I just used snip. Thanks for the help!

Finally getting back to you on this, sorry, been one real busy weekend/week.

 

Anyway, the name of the first image on the left is "MMVCVIU.gif", the name of the second one is "uzuzi7phk2x11.png", the third "IMG_20181107_1726080.jpg", and the fourth "IMG_20181107_1705065.jpg".

 

Now for the names of the seemingly random images that it scrolled to, the first one is "n7u7I0mme7u11.jpg", and finally the last one is "m87q132uo8v11.jpg"

They do, and it matches the file name.

Ok well I cannot reproduce this. Are you sure you didn't change the sort order in the UI?

I've made sure that I haven't, so I'm not sure what would cause this. Something I should have noted, this ONLY happens with the camera upload folders, and not other image folders.

Yes I am, but it's not a big deal since I just use it for backup. May be related to my phone setup as well or something like that.

It's just odd because once it gets into the server it's just regular content. can you by chance zip up one of your folders that sorts incorrectly and attach it here? thanks.
