danscott7 0 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 (edited) This isn't a major issue, but a fairly annoying one. If anyone can help with a solution, it would be greatly appreciated. I recently uploaded "Magical Mystery Tour" by the Beatles to my Emby album collection. However, when I go to artists on the Emby home page, then click on B on the right side of the screen, and then click on "The Beatles": icon, it is not among their other albums I have on Emby. But, when I then click on the search icon, and start to type "Magical Mystery Tour" in the search field, the album cover shows up on screen. I click on it, and it opens, with the cover, the track listing, and "The Beatles" listed under the title as the artist behind the album. Then, I'll go back to artists on the Emby home page, go to the B's, click on "The Beatles" icon, and again this particular album is not there. What gives? Edited November 8, 2018 by danscott7
Luke 42078 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Hi, what does your music folder structure look like?
danscott7 0 Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 I'm a little bit of a layman, so could you dumb it down for me a bit? What exactly do you mean by my "music folder structure"?

Jack Burton 98 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 (edited) Check if there's another instance of The Beatles in your library. Sounds like something that happened to me recently with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Emby added 2 instances because of naming issues (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers). If I remember right editing the metadata through Emby didn't work, and the second instance kept creeping back. I think I had to throw the affected album into Picard and change the metadata there and rescrape through Emby. Things as small as an extra space in a title can mess everything up Edited November 8, 2018 by Jack Burton
danscott7 0 Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 I think I know what both of you are saying. In response to the first question, I've attached a screenshot of the home page of my Emby music library to illustrate how it's organized. I did not do this myself; Emby did it for me as I added albums, and, in some cases, seems to have made some mistakes along the way. The comedians Lewis Black and Bob Newhart, for example, are both listed under "folk", for some reason, instead of comedy. I was unaware that I could manage the filing of my music myself. I haven't been doing that. As to the second question, I've already checked that, thanks, and all the rest of my Beatles albums are right where they're supposed to be, except this one. I too have had multiple copies of the same title appear, but this isn't quite the same sort of thing. Anyway, the mystery continues, hopefully to be soon solved.
ebr 16182 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Hi. You didn't insert the picture. The easiest way to do this is to use the little "picture" icon on the toolbar when editing a post. But, what we want to see is not the organization in Emby but the actual layout in the file system. Pics of Windows explorer showing the directory structure and contents. Thanks.
danscott7 0 Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 Sorry about that. Unsure how to do what you requested.
danscott7 0 Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 Yes. I have done it before, and posted the results here in the forums. What I don't know how to do is through Windows Explorer go into the music library.
Luke 42078 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Do you know how to browse windows explorer to your own music folders?
