neptunepic 11 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Hi all, is it possible to use openDCT for tuning with HDHR Prime rather than use Emby's native tuning method? During my testing with openDCT I'm finding that it produces cleaner recordings, with less artifacting and dropouts. For example using SageTV with openDCT my recordings don't stutter or break up, ever. Not the case with Emby. Is this possible?

neptunepic 11 Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 Well I'm certainly not an expert but it's an open source digital cable network tuner. It can discover any tuners on your local network and control them for tuning and recording. Here's the github page-- https://github.com/enternoescape/opendct
Luke 42080 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 We don't have direct support for opendct, so that means it would need to have an m3u output feature.
neptunepic 11 Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 Yeah I'm not sure if it does but for now I'm using SageTV to record via OpenDCT and then move files into Emby for viewing. For whatever reason the SageTV+OpenDCT combo is more stable and has fewer glitches than Emby's native recording.
