drex 1 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 So I can't wrap my head around this issue. I've been using Emby for a few months now and I really like it. The other day I noticed that movies with 6 channel surround sound are being transcoded to stereo and I can't figure out why. I'm using a Chromecast 2 hooked up to a receiver capable of AC3. I can see in the logs that Emby is transcoding to 2 channels AAC. Is there any setting I can change to adjust this? I've been looking for the AC3 passhtrough option but haven't found it. Thanks in advance!
Luke 42077 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Hi there, can you please attach the ffmpeg log? thanks.

Luke 42077 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Ok apparently a Chromecast firmware update has caused ac3 support detection to stop working. A ticket has been filed with google. If you search the community there is a topic about this with more information. Thanks. 1
drex 1 Posted November 7, 2018 Author Posted November 7, 2018 Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the super quick support!
dansblackcat 37 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 This issue seems to have been fixed with the latest beta cast firmware. Mines working properly again
