Scott310 137 Posted November 10, 2018 Author Posted November 10, 2018 Nothing. It just says downloaded and never actually started the conversion. Also the convert working folder is empty
Luke 42078 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 I'm guessing you tried to convert something, and the source file already meets the criteria of the conversion profile you selected. Therefore no conversion is actually needed. We will have to add logging in this situation to make it more obvious.
Scott310 137 Posted November 10, 2018 Author Posted November 10, 2018 Hmmm Its an .MKV file and I was converting it in the hopes it would convert it to an .MP4. Xbox seems to like .MP4 better. The seeking is faster, and I have always had problems with xbox displaying .mkv embedded subs. I would just rather have .MP4's with external subs. They always show up no problem. Here is the media info for the file. Scott310 137 Posted November 10, 2018 Author Posted November 10, 2018 I could try the convert process on a file that is DTS and see if it converts.
Scott310 137 Posted November 10, 2018 Author Posted November 10, 2018 Ok it does appear that you were right. The DTS file started to convert immediately. Maybe we should add an option to just change it from MKV to MP4. Or at least tell you the reason it didn't start the conversion. I have been racking my brain over this LOL.
Luke 42078 Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Maybe we should add an option to just change it from MKV to MP4. That's what the mobile profile does. The help text underneath the dropdown indicates the target format.
Scott310 137 Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 Oh I guess I was wrong to assume that if I chose mobile that there would be some reduction in quality. But after rereading the help text its just converting it to MP4 with H264 video and AAC. So If I have some MKV's that I would rather have as MP4 it would best suit me to just choose the mobile profile at original quality?
Scott310 137 Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 Sounds great. Thanks for the help @@Luke!
