DarWun 349 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 (edited) I have a recording post-processing script that moves recorded TV shows from the "Recordings" library folder to the Auto Organize watch folder. Once the file is moved, folders created by the recording process are deleted. The intent is that the recording will be renamed and moved to the appropriate location in the "TV" library when the scheduled Auto Organize task subsequently runs. Most of the time things work as intended. But occasionally Auto Organize decides to move the file back to the "Recordings" library folder that it had previously been moved out of. This includes recreating nested show and season folders if they don't already exist. There does not appear to be any pattern as to which shows get moved to "Recordings" and which shows get moved to the "TV" library (i.e. a show that was moved to the right TV folder one week gets moved back to the recordings folder the next week). The content in the "Recordings" library is defined as "Mixed", and the recordings folder is not in the "TV" library. So I'm not sure why Auto Organize thinks the Recordings folder is an appropriate location to move files for TV shows to. Is there any way to control the destination folder to ensure that Auto Organize only moves files to folders that are in the "TV" library? Edited November 2, 2018 by DarWun
Luke 42077 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Hi, we'd have to look a specific example of what is going on here, thanks.
DarWun 349 Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 (edited) @@Luke It took a few days for the issue to come up again. From the image below Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow were moved back to the Recordings folder even though folders existed in the "TV" library. Auto Organize has previously moved them to the TV library folders. This time it didn't. embyserver.txt Edited November 6, 2018 by DarWun
Luke 42077 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Sorry I'm confused and don't quite understand. What is your watch folder?
DarWun 349 Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 (edited) Sorry I'm confused and don't quite understand. What is your watch folder? @@Luke Sorry for the confusion. The watch folder is "\\MEDIASTORAGE\Downloads". It is not in either the "TV" library or the "Recordings" library. After recordings are finished, a post-processing script moves them to the watch folder. When auto-organize subsequently runs, the recordings are sometimes moved back to the "Recordings" library folder (volume1/MediaStorage/Users/DarWunder/Videos/Recordings) instead of to the "TV" library folder (/volume1/MediaStorage/Users/DarWunder/Videos/TV/Airing). Luke 42077 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Ok, that's because there a series folder under that recordings library and that's the series that just happens to get picked.

It would be nice if the folders that already exist in the TV library are used as the default destination locations. Not really an Emby issue, given that this is an external plug-in. And it's not really a major inconvenience to move the files to the correct folders after Auto Organize renames and relocates them. But I figured I'd ask just in case there is an obvious workaround that I'm missing. Edited November 6, 2018 by DarWun
Luke 42077 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Well, a setting could be added to the plugin, yes.
