Transcoding using web app on local machine

is it supposed to transcode for this ? I open the file direct VLC and have no issues but It transcodes if i play through the emby web app?

Because web browsers only support plain text subtitles.

 

Try turning the subtitles off. Then, if it direct plays, you can try using our subtitle download features to download external text subtitles.
