carljames 0 Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Hi after posting my logs on the forum to help fix my live TV issues...I notice that niether of my 2 profiles have admin privileges. I tried to scroll to admin dashboard and it's like the admin has been removed from my server. I had 2 profiles and both were admin, is there a way to do a restore without admin.. or manually change that. I'm stuck guys

carljames 0 Posted October 30, 2018 Author Posted October 30, 2018 Emby is installed on a remote headless Ubuntu server and I use chrome or opera mobile browser to access the control panel. Usually I just click in my user icom and the drop-down menu gives me the option for server dashboard. That's gone now
Luke 42080 Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 You could shutdown the server, locate the server's programdata folder, then go into /config/users. Then locate the policy.xml file for the user and set IsAdministrator to true.

Luke 42080 Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 But actually you could just restart the server. If the user is truly no longer an admin, there is a built-in fail-safe for this. If there are zero admin users, it will change all users to admins to prevent you from being locked out.

carljames 0 Posted October 30, 2018 Author Posted October 30, 2018 Okay I restarted emby via ssh but I'm still not admin...I believe I've accidentally made about 4 users admin manually thru the policy.xml
