Server buffering while transcoding

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Why is my server buffering while transcoding, when it should support 4k playback in encode and decode accoarding to intel specification.
My cpu is intel i3-7130u 2.7GHZ, with hardware decode & encode support for up to 2 4k streams.

When playing through vlc media player, everything works fine.

Other files are even worse, they load after about a minute, and then keep buffering every 5 seconds.

I would like a solution to this, since this problem exists in both plex and emby, emby could make a win for it.

I attached the transcode log.

No Log

have you enabled HW Transcoding in Emby?

Turned out that hardwaredecoding was activated, but specifically which types (h264, h265 etc) wasnt selected, which I had selected about a few days ago, but now isnt.

Now that I have selected hardwaredecoing, it isn't playing at all anymore.

It is a windows 10 home edition, but on windows 10 pro it doesnt work either.
I have no subtitles when streaming.
I have latest drivers for intel, but intel qsv is nowhere to be found. Is that a seperate download, or is it included with driver package?
Intel i3-7130u comes with Intel HD Graphics 620.
At hw accelaration I selected intel quick sync (on emby server).

It still keeps buffering every 1 or 2 seconds. It seems about the same.

Hardware acceleration isn't working for your GPU. The next server release will give you other options.

did you turn off HW decoding in Emby?

might just be that your cpu/igpu is not powerful enough to transcoding as it only has a pass mark of 4000ish

What plugin? Can I do something to fix it? Or is it too complicated?
